Siege - General Nazgrim

Icy Veins

Fatboss

General Nazgrim is pretty straight forward. Target down the healing adds when they spawn, followed by arcweavers, have whoever is fixaated by assassins face them and keep a hunter flare up if you have it to see them from stealth. Pull the ironwhatever adds to the boss and cleave them down because they're irrelevant.

We found that the tank debuff on Nazgrim is pretty finicky, but if you taunt after 3 stacks you *should* drop your stacks right as he applies a new one when switching back and forth.

Nazgrim uses rage abilities, and generates rage via his attacks. The tank debuff will give him 5 rage plus 5 more per stack, so you'll have to handle a decent amount of abilities form him. We didn't dps him through defensive stance but you can probably handle the abilities he does. He will cast the highest rage costing ability he can.

For 30 rage he does Heroic Shockwave, which does damage in an aoe around where he lands and sends several earthquake lines out, which explode after 3 seconds probably killing any non tank in them.

For 70 rage he does War Song, which does 50% of each player's health in physical damage.

For 100 rage he does Ravager, throwing his axe to a location. It will remain there, spinning and doing aoe damage to everyone near it.

Flex

When Dark and I did him on flex, it really comes down to two things:
1) Don't get cause rage
2) Focus on adds (Main one being the shaman)

Other then that, the mechanics really aren't bad. Kill the adds when they spawn, and try to tank the shaman away from the boss (the shaman is the only one that really can be tanked, mage kinda). Rage is a big factor. You should never get hit by shockwave, it's pretty big and shows on the ground. When the banner's up, just switch and burn like the normal banner adds. Warsong hurts, but manageable. Ravager wipes the raid. Don't ever let him get to 100 rage, and you're golden. The only way we were able to manage this is by not attacking while he was in defensive stance.

Hunter pets and summoned pets

Hunter pets and summoned pets (treants, shadowfiend, etc) don't cause rage during Defensive.

We tossed around a few ideas after Monday's raid. 2 healing it would be possible but would require everyone to be a little more careful about Ravager, Shockwave, etc.
