Haven't really figured out the logs too well yet, other than to see I sucked pretty hard. Working on levelling a marks spec now for the fights where there's a lot more target switching.
But glancing over info I had missed, apparently you can cleanse wisps which creates a whoooole pile more green cleansing spots. And the big one fades after a minute regardless of how much we use.
Yeah, cleansing the wisps seems to be the best idea. I've been busy today so I haven't had a chance to do research yet, but I want to see if the spawns are predictable. They seemed the same both tries. Planning ahead will help. :D

Recommended seems to be basically always do wisp if there is one, except wave 4 when they prevent a double drake, then on 5 they do a tree to get the healers mana and prevent a double tree. Basically judging by their pattern, double anything is bad.
