Patch 5.2 goes Live tomorrow!
There is a new raid there, the Throne of Thunder. There are also new daily quests, new rare mobs, new battle pets and some other stuff to go hunt down. Like a triceratops. I'm gonna get me one of those!
As for raiding, we have managed to get everyone a kill of each of the three end bosses of this first tier. Further raiding on this tier's Normal modes won't give us much beyond stronger gear, which is what we'll be getting in the new Throne of Thunder anyway. Thus, on Thursday we will start the new raid! The first boss is Jin'rokh the Breaker. Naturally, if there is big interest in going back and doing 5.0 raids for achievements or Heroic modes, we can do that, but I expect most of us want to kill the new stuff! :) Tonight we'll still be killing off the Sha of Fear one last time and maybe someone will get a new weapon! (I never did!)
Just in case you haven't seen it, there is a very cool patch 5.2 trailer from Blizzard, you should definitely go watch it before the patch hits tomorrow!
Blizzard says they designed these fights to be based on execution, not DPS checks. I have heard from others that the first boss is a bit of a DPS check though but I imagine we'll do OK there.
Looking over wowprogress it appears that defeating the first boss tomorrow night should be a reasonable goal for us.
Are we free to pug 5.1 raids?
There may be worth in clearing out Terrace, but I'm not sure we'll do that on Monday. We'll want to spend time on Horridon to see how close we are. (Three pulls is not enough to decide.) I'm torn if we should keep Terrace possible if Horridon goes badly on Monday...but nah.
Feel free to pug anything this week. We'll spend Monday on Horridon. Depending on how THAT goes, we may hit Terrace next week as a guild, but MSV and HoF should be free reign.
