HoF - Blade Lord Ta'yak

2 tanks. No idea about the healer/DPS requirements.

Phase 1: Lasts to 20%. When he marks a player and vanishes, stack on that player since he'll reappear after 5 seconds and do a meteor-cleave thing. Otherwise stay spread out to mitigate damage from Wind Step (slashes a random player and everyone in 8 yards, leaving a hefty DoT). Also there's a tank-swap (Overwhelming Strike; swap off every couple of stacks?) and some tornadoes, but the tornadoes move pretty predictably on normal so they shouldn't be a problem.

Phase 2: Fight turns into Booster Hill from Super Mario RPG. No, seriously. He'll run to one end of his hallway and throw you all to the other end, and you have to run towards him while dodging tornadoes. Eventually he'll switch sides and repeat.

random posts for this boss
How are you supposed to deal with Blade Lord p2? Even if we don't touch the tornadoes the whole raid takes 20k damage per second, which is impossible to heal while moving. And since you start low from the initial tornado ride there's no way to keep everyone alive to reach the end.

The initial tornado ride doesn't really do that much damage. take a second to top everybody up and have people use whatever personal cooldowns they can manage. A rogue can keep feint up the entire time he's running and take a trivial amount of damage

When Ta'yak vanishes, imagine him slowly walking towards the person with the mark, and reappearing a few seconds later. If the person with the mark is moving around and happens to be moving right as he re-appears, his facing will be off a bit and he may only cleave one or two people. The raid should position themselves so that the marked person is between them, and where Ta'yak was when he vanished, and you should be able to soak the cleave every time.

Tornadoes!

This fight is more of a DPS fight than Vizier Zor'lok. Mainly because of the soft enrage mechanic where he stacks a damage buff on himself the longer the fight goes on. Getting through the first phase faster will be good, so we'll use Heroism early on. Other than that, it's mostly about collapsing and spreading out, then mastering the wind tunnel.

Icy Veins

A read through the comments on Icy Veins and pulled out a few things that we were wondering about last night.

1) stampeding roar is good
2) leap of faith works to get people out of tornadoes
3) when you get the boss to about 11% all of the dps and 1-2 healers should jump into the slip-stream to go to the other side and leave the tanks with 1 healer to run back.

At least one person recommended going with 2 healers because healers are so useless in phase 2. I know that I felt pretty useless. I was trying to stop and cast heals while running back, but that just meant I died before I made it to the platform. I could probably be more useful just running to the platform and then healing like crazy. My healing was also really low during phase 1 because a certain disco priest was bogarting all the heals. So basically I'm saying I was useless for this fight :).

If it is correct that there

If it is correct that there is no enrage timer on this fight, then we really just need 1 healer, 1 tank and 1 dps to make it through the tornadoes 2x. Also I found that stopping before jumping on the platform to assess where the tornadoes are going to spawn will prevent me from getting sucked up at the last minute. I will try to put my teleport thing at the end of the first tornado run and see if I can teleport up there. I have not done this successfully yet.
