I don't know how many of you follow the progress races over at Manaflask and WowProgress. It's a lot of fun to follow the super-hardcore guilds who clear heroic modes in a single week.
That said, I think it's also pretty cool to watch the progress that is a little more relevant to us. For example, we are intentionally set up as a pretty time constricted raid group. We took a long time to get geared up, and everyone but Skarn takes nights off (Thanks Skarn!). But once we're there I think we are a pretty solid raid group for about 6 hours every week.
If you take a look at our world rankings, you'll see that we have been making huge strides in progress. http://www.wowprogress.com/guild/us/proudmoore/Game+Theory We were ranked 22171 for our Stone Guards kill. We had a lot of trouble with that one, but mostly because our gear wasn't ready due to time constraints for all the leveling and grinding. In a little over a month since then we have jumped over almost 6000 other guilds in the world so that our last two kills were 14917 and 15984 respectively.
