The way I read it, normal is easy and heroic is hard. I'd much prefer us slowly progressing through heroic than progressing through normal at a slightly faster pace, but without the gear upgrades or endorphin rush.
I get a kick out of the early rush of boss kills on new content. We've had a lot of slow progress lately.
Of course, if we actually killed it on heroic, we'd be guaranteed a great ranking!
