Some guilds are hitting the enrage and switching to 2 heals. Join LFR and practice going to the Spirit Realm to kill adds when you're not affected by Voodoo Dolls.
Drops Spirit Totems that send the nearest 3-4 players downstairs to the Spirit World with 30% health when the totem is killed. Downstairs is basically Valiona and Theralion in that there's adds downstairs that hurt people upstairs. There's no portals to go back up; instead, you can go back up when you're healed to full by hitting a special action button, but if that doesn't happen within 30 seconds, you die. When you're healed downstairs, you get Spiritual Innervation, which gives you an effectively unlimited amount of mana (if you're a healer) or a buff that increases your haste, crit, mastery, and damage (if you're a DPS).
Rotate which people get sent downstairs; sending a healer down multiple times in a row will probably be necessary if the other healer gets Voodoo-Dolled (see below), but try not to send the same DPS down on consecutive totems, since Spiritual Innervation's damage buff is kinda wasted on the downstairs adds.
He'll also periodically fixate on the tank, turning him and 2-3 other guys into Voodoo Dolls. Damage done to the tank gets copied onto the Voodoo Dolls, and if you're a voodoo doll you can't go downstairs. [s](This is why 3-healing this is recommended on 10-man; he'll continue to throw down Spirit Totems, and if you're 2-healing and both healers get hit with Voodoo Dolls you'll get overwhelmed with downstairs adds.)[s] Okay, apparently they fixed that. Eventually he clears everyone's voodoo dolls and kicks the tank downstairs; the tank then has to kill a big add, the Severer of Souls, within 30 seconds or he dies.
At 20% health, Gara'jal will start doing a lot more damage and will stop dropping totems. Bloodlust here and try to kill him before you get overwhelmed by downstairs adds; stop sending people downstairs entirely at around 23-24%.
Gara'jal is obviously going well since we've killed him every night we've gotten to him! I'm considering how to improve our kills. I'm considering limiting the amount of DPS we try to send into the Spirit Realm. Specifically, I'd like to try to rotate four DPS instead of six. The idea is to try to stack the damage buff higher on less DPS in order to possibly put out more damage.
I would actually try to keep any melee DPS out of the Spirit Realm. Thus they won't need to run around so much. Don't need to run to totems, don't need to chase adds down and then back to the boss. Of course, Dolls can screw any plans up, but this seems a way to improve our overall DPS.

Casters can sit where they spawn in the spirit realm and pretty much reach everyone but I know personally I am running from one end of that place to the other killing adds especially when only a couple are up and across the room from each other. It helps of course if the casters are not Dolls of course...RNG!

This worked REALLY well! We killed Gara'jal in only 5:10 this week! That's a big improvement! It was also much easier deciding who would go down each time since there were only 4 possible choices for DPS. We'll definitely stick with this and pick two DPS to stay up top.
